Near-Miss Reporting System partners with TargetSafety

Middle

The National Fire Fighter Near-Miss Reporting System, a program managed by the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), and TargetSafety, the U.S. leader in online, enterprise risk management solutions, have partnered to promote safety among fire and EMS departments nationwide. Through this partnership, the two organizations hope to significantly reduce firefighter injuries and fatalities by increasing safety awareness and training.

"Like the National Fire Fighter Near-Miss Reporting System, TargetSafety is absolutely committed to protecting the men and women of the fire service," said John Tippett, program manager of the National Fire Fighter Near-Miss Reporting System. "So, it made perfect sense for us to combine our efforts in support of the health and welfare of all firefighters."

Under the terms of the agreement, TargetSafety's fire and EMS clients will have access to the National Fire Fighter Near-Miss Reporting System's Report of the Week (ROTW) from within PreventionLink™, the company's online training and compliance management platform. These reports will provide fire chiefs and firefighters with the opportunity to learn from other departments and their near-miss events. In doing so, they can make critical changes to command, operations and training that will reduce injuries and prevent fatalities. TargetSafety clients will also have the ability to search all archived near-miss reports as well as submit a new near-miss report using PreventionLink.

"We are pleased to be partnering with the National Fire Fighter Near-Miss Reporting System and look forward to providing even greater value to our fire and EMS clients through the PreventionLink platform," explained Bruce Kaechele, President and CEO of TargetSafety. "In the future, we plan to expand our partnership by jointly developing and promoting other safety-based programs designed to enhance firefighter skills and knowledge through training."
